Diablo 4 and Last Epoch are some of the names; check out these and other RPGs to play on Steam right now. Diablo 4 and Last Epoch are examples of isometric action RPGs that are popular among players. Last Epoch, in fact, debuted as one of the bestsellers on Steam and excited fans of the genre even more. Valve’s digital store also features several popular games that follow this style, such as Path of Exile, Torchlight 3, among others, that allow players to explore worlds and battle enemies in single-player or even with friends. With that in mind, TechTudo has compiled a list of ten action RPGs in the format established by the classic Diablo that are available to play on PC via Steam and you need to start playing now.

It is worth noting that Diablo 4 will soon be added to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass subscription service on March 28, available at no extra cost to service users on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and PC. It will also be available to be played in the cloud for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers through Xbox Cloud Gaming. The game will be the first title from Activision Blizzard to enter Xbox Game Pass after Microsoft’s acquisition of the Call of Duty studio in 2023 for a record-breaking amount of $68.7 million (around R$ 342 billion).

1. Diablo 4
The latest chapter in Blizzard’s long-running action RPG saga puts players in the role of a hero who must confront Lilith, the mother of demons, after her invasion of the world of Sanctuary. With the weakening of the forces of Heaven and Hell due to their long battle shown in the previous games, the ancient villain finds an opportunity for her return.

Users can create their own character from classes such as Mage, Barbarian, Necromancer, Druid, and Rogue and obtain different equipment and weapons to strengthen themselves throughout the adventure. The series is known for encouraging users to continuously play at increasingly higher levels of difficulty, discovering better equipment, and also receiving new seasons of content regularly. Diablo 4 is available on Steam for R$ 349.90.

2. Last Epoch
Previously available in early access, Last Epoch is an action RPG that brings a gameplay similar to Diablo 4 but with a time travel twist. In this game, users can create their own character from 15 different classes to face hordes of enemies in open fields, dungeons, jungles, and more.

The unique aspect of the game is that the journey spans different eras and pits your warrior against enemies ranging from great empires to gods as you seek a way to save all of time from the Void that threatens to consume it completely. Last Epoch is available on Steam for R$ 99.99.

3. Path of Exile
A great option in the genre is Path of Exile, an isometric action RPG very similar to the games in the Diablo saga. You can choose from 6 classes: Duelist, Witch, Templar, Marauder, Shadow, or Scion, and you have to face hordes of enemies on deserted beaches, dark forests, and ruined cities in the dark world of Wraeclast.

The gameplay offers several options to develop your character, and players of the same class can specialize in completely different fighting styles. The fact that it is free makes it easy to convince friends to start playing. In addition, Path of Exile 2 is already in development, with a beta phase planned for June 2024. As mentioned before, the game is available for free on Steam.

4. Titan Quest Anniversary Edition
This is a slightly older game, from 2006, but it has received updates in its Anniversary Edition, including the inclusion of its expansion Titan Quest Immortal Throne. The game’s theme involves traveling through the ancient world, visiting locations such as Greece, Egypt, and Asia while battling the legendary Titans of Greek mythology. After the creatures have escaped their prison, the player will have to face the giants and also armies of other creatures in epic battles.

While most games in the genre have multiplayer for up to four people, Titan Quest allows even more chaos in combat with support for up to six friends cooperatively. One interesting feature is that the game is less dark than most of the games on the list and is set in brighter areas. A sequel, Titan Quest 2, is in development but has no set date yet. Titan Quest Anniversary Edition is available on Steam for R$ 36.99.

5. Grim Dawn
Created through a crowdfunding campaign by former Titan Quest developers, Grim Dawn is a game set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity is on the brink of extinction. Players take on the role of an ironclad warrior who can be created with one of six classes: Soldier, Demolitionist, Occultist, Nightblade, Arcanist, and Shaman to face countless enemies of darkness.

An interesting feature in Grim Dawn is the possibility of multiclassing, where players can combine the advantages of different classes to create their own custom build. There is also a greater focus on the story, with a choice and consequence system where your actions can mean life or death for others, from families to entire villages. Grim Dawn is available on Steam for R$ 73.99.

6. Darksiders Genesis
A little less similar to the other games on the list, Darksiders Genesis focuses more on the action part of the game and less on RPG elements, also featuring platforming and puzzle sections. The game’s plot features events prior to the first Darksiders, before the great betrayal that shakes the order of the game’s world.

In this chapter, players follow the Horsemen War and Strife, who have a fun dynamic on a mission through Hell to defeat demons who have been empowered by their king Lucifer. Users can expect numerous hordes of enemies, different weapons with upgrade possibilities, artifacts, and more. Darksiders Genesis is available on Steam for R$ 57.99.

7. Minecraft Dungeons
For younger players who are just starting in the action RPG genre, Minecraft Dungeons can be a great entry point with the familiar franchise’s aesthetics. Although the adventure is based on the classic blocky game Minecraft, there is no building here, and its story, villains, and enemies are quite different.

Players will still have to face hordes of creatures like zombies, skeletons, and creepers, but they can have unique modifications that only exist in Minecraft Dungeons. To face them, you’ll need to equip yourself with weapons and armor, which can also have enchanted unique attributes, and confront the Arch-Illager, a villain whose Orb of Dominance controls armies of monsters. Minecraft Dungeons is available on Steam for R$ 74.95.

8. Torchlight 3
The Torchlight series is one of the most acclaimed “clones” of Diablo, now with new features in its third chapter. Battles are once again set in the wild region of Novastraia, a century after the events of Torchlight 2, when the kingdom of Novastraia begins to crumble and hordes of Netherim invade the world.

Users can create their characters from four different classes, as well as choose from five Relic subclasses, to build unique builds to face the armies of enemies. The game also allows players to build a fort as their home with various item options for decoration and to host friends. Torchlight 3 is available on Steam for R$ 83.49.

9. The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing 3
Another highly acclaimed series, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing 3 brings the legendary vampire and monster hunter to the conclusion of his trilogy. After the events of the previous games and the end of the civil war in Borgovia, a strange cult prophesies the end of times, and the hunter will have to face a great danger in the form of a corrupted old ally.

Players can choose from six classes: Protector, Bounty Hunter, Phlogistoneer, Constructor, Elementalist, and Umbralist as they face dozens of creatures of the night with various weapon options to master. Each class has its own gameplay style focused on direct physical damage, indirect damage through spells, stealth abilities, and more. The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing 3 is available on Steam for R$ 46.99.

10. Victor Vran ARPG
A game similar in theme to the Van Helsing series, Victor Vran ARPG found success with gameplay that was more action-oriented and less focused on RPG elements. In this game, the player’s skill during combat, such as knowing when to attack and dodge, can be as important as their attributes.

The story follows the demon hunter Victor Vran, who arrives in the city of Zagoravia to try to defend humans from an invasion of dark beings of unknown origin. In this game, your build creation is not tied to classes, you just need to switch weapons to change your gameplay, combined with other aids such as demonic powers and “Fate Cards” that provide advantages. Victor Vran is a game similar to The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing but more action-focused.
