Until Dawn Remake: see release, trailer, and news on PS5 and PC
The popular horror game Until Dawn, developed by Supermassive Games and originally released in 2015 for the PlayStation 4 (PS4), will receive a remake for the PlayStation 5 (PS5) and PC. The studio responsible for the remake is the British Ballistic Moon. The game tells the story of a group of young people who find themselves pursued by various dangers, following the theme of traditional horror movies. One of the striking features of the game is the presence of famous actors such as Rami Malek from the series Mr. Robot, and Hayden Panettiere, known for her work on series like Heroes and Nashville.
Until Dawn Remake is scheduled for release on October 4th and will be available for PlayStation 5 and PC through the Steam and Epic Games Store digital stores. The game has undergone significant improvements in its remastered version. The character models have been rebuilt using Unreal Engine 5, resulting in more realistic textures, materials, and animations. In addition, the game’s lighting has been reworked with Ray Tracing support, providing an enhanced visual experience.
Until Dawn Remake gameplay maintains its focus on narrative, putting the story as the central piece of gameplay. Players have the ability to control several of the game’s 8 characters during different moments of the game, explore scenarios, interact with objects, and make dialogue choices. There are also scenes where it is necessary to react quickly by pressing buttons to perform essential actions. The decisions made by players throughout the story and their performance in certain scenes can lead the plot in different directions, resulting in different endings and determining which characters survive or die.
One of the new features in the remake is the introduction of a third-person camera over the shoulder, similar to the camera style used in Resident Evil 4 Remake. This perspective alternates with the fixed angles present in the original game, adding a different visual dynamic. In addition, collectibles called Totems have been added, which offer flashes of future events and even deaths. The location of these items has been changed in the remake, providing an extra challenge for those who have already played the original game.
Until Dawn Remake promises to bring an even more immersive and frightening experience to fans of the game. With enhanced graphics, improvements in gameplay, and new camera perspectives, it is a great opportunity to relive the story and make decisions that shape the characters’ fate.
