Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is the next game in the famous first-person shooter series by Activision. Set to release on October 25th, the game brings various gameplay improvements and an all-new campaign that is a direct sequel to Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War. Developed by Treyarch in partnership with Raven, the game will be available on PC and consoles, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, as well as PC via Steam, Xbox App, and Battle.net.
One of the major highlights is that players will have the opportunity to test the game before its release. Those who pre-order and Xbox Game Pass subscribers will have access to a beta version starting from August 30th. This is the first time a major release from Activision is available on Xbox Game Pass right from day one.
The story of Call of Duty Black Ops 6 takes place in the early 90s, after the fall of the Soviet Union. Players will follow Troy Marshall and his group of CIA exiles who decide to rebel against a suspicious government in power. With limited resources, they assemble their own team of rebels and recruit two new agents.
In terms of gameplay, Call of Duty Black Ops 6 maintains the essence of previous editions. Players will engage in a variety of missions, from brutal combat to stealthy espionage and information theft tasks. One of the major additions is the inclusion of omnidirectional movement mechanics, allowing players to run, dive, slide, and jump in any direction.
The Multiplayer mode features 16 maps, with 12 exclusive for 6v6 battles and the remaining for 2v2 confrontations. Additionally, new maps will be added each season, along with a new game mode called Kill Order, where players must eliminate their opponents to score points.
And of course, the cooperative Zombies mode is not to be missed. Black Ops 6 introduces a cooperative round-based mode where players must face massive hordes of zombies. The mode’s story continues the Dark Aether narrative in a new outpost called Terminus, in the Philippine Sea.
A major advantage for Xbox Game Pass players is that, apart from having access to the game on day one, they can also participate in the beta without the need for pre-ordering. The game will be available at different levels of Xbox Game Pass service, allowing subscribers to play the campaign, multiplayer, or all game modes.
The minimum requirements for the game have not been disclosed yet, but players will have the opportunity to test the game during the beta and check if their devices meet the requirements.
