GPT-4

This means that the tool can now easily analyze images and documents. Currently, GPT-4 is only accessible through ChatGPT for subscribers of the Plus, Teams, or Enterprises plans, which start at $20 per month. However, this model can also be accessed for free through Microsoft’s Copilot chatbot.
GPT-4o
GPT-4o (or GPT-4o Mini) is the most advanced and intelligent multimodal model available in ChatGPT. It has the ability to comprehend various formats, such as text, audio, images, and videos, and can execute commands accordingly. In addition to its superior reasoning capabilities compared to previous models, GPT-4o also delivers responses at a speed comparable to that of a human, thanks to its end-to-end neural network processing.
Previous versions required separate models for tasks such as transcribing audio inputs and converting responses to audio for the user. However, GPT-4o has been trained end-to-end for text, vision, and audio. As a result, it can provide responses to audio inputs within an impressive 230 milliseconds.
GPT-4o is already the standard model for the free plans of ChatGPT, available daily to all users. However, there are usage limitations, and when a user reaches their daily input quota, they are automatically switched to the mini version. Plus, Teams, and Enterprises plan users have a five times higher message limit, and once this limit is reached, they gain access to GPT-4.
GPT-4o Mini
GPT-4o Mini is the latest addition to OpenAI’s model family. This software incorporates various features of GPT-4o, including multimodal reasoning, but it is faster and more cost-effective. It is designed for less complex tasks and, although it can analyze images, it delivers responses in text format only. According to Olivier Godement, OpenAI’s Product API Lead, this model was created to offer AI at a more affordable price.
This is particularly beneficial for developers who require the use of artificial intelligence in their APIs, as it can be expensive. OpenAI recommends that applications powered by GPT-3.5 Turbo migrate to GPT-4o Mini due to its efficiency, speed, and cost-effectiveness. The pricing for GPT-4o Mini is 15 cents per million input tokens and 60 cents per million output tokens. It is available to all ChatGPT users, whether free or paid.
